Viet Populaire is bringing its famous bánh mì to Arcade on Tuesday 2nd August by popular demand. Faithful to the Vietnamese original, baguettes are baked daily and served warm with a still-crackling crust. Drop in and escape the traffic of Tottenham Court Road with the sight and sounds of wild birds in ornate cages hung above the Provisions counter as in Hanoi’s café fronts.
Bánh mì's are generously filled with butter mayo pickles, pate, cold cuts, tofu and finished with fresh herbs and chillies from owner Luke Farrell’s greenhouse in Dorset. True to Hanoi café culture, there’ll be Vietnamese phin coffee in the mornings, made with dark filter coffee roasted with butter and vanilla and dripped over condensed milk.
